As we move into the New Year, our workload looks set to continue as strongly as in 2010, with fuel tank and fuel system upgrades for supermarkets and general commercial users in high demand.
We’re also working hard to find new and better solutions for the changing market and legislation.
Storing diesel externally in barrels without bunding and weather protection is now out of the question, so we’re investigating bulk storage in metal double skinned tanks that are directly connected to the generator via pressure tested pipework. To eliminate the risk of major fuel spillage, we always fit a solenoid at the tank so that fuel will only be allowed to flow when the generator is called to run.
We only use either high pressure double internally braided fuel hoses or welded stainless steel fuel pipes. Over time diesel will usually find a way to leak through screwed and socketed steel pipework, added to which corrosion on external pipework is always a problem, so our solution offers all sorts of benefits.
