When purchasing a generator you need to consider planning issues. We can organise a preplanning noise impact survey and provide advice and assistance if you are contacted by the HSE or your local EHO.

Diesel Generator Noise Surveys

In addition to providing generator services, we can also consult on related issues such as acoustics. Noise from generators, chillers, process plants and other equipment can give lead to expensive and lengthy disputes with HSE and your local EHO, not to mention the burden on admin and time.

Through our sister firm Acoustic Enclosures we can design and build bespoke housing for your noisy machinery. Usually, knowing that we have been consulted is sufficient for the authorities to pause action and wait for the outcome of the project.

If you have experienced problems, or are concerned about existing or new equipment, we can complete an unattended long and short noise survey using the latest Rion instrumentation. This is followed by a ‘Noise Impact’ or BS4142 report that can be used to settle a dispute or satisfy planning, and as part of this service we also provide guidance for any acoustic work needed to meet regulations.
