FIXED PRICE
GENERATOR SERVICING

We offer a one-off fixed price service for any diesel generator up to 500kVA. It’s great value, and there are no hidden costs. An expert engineer comes out to your site, checks the condition of your generator and carries out a full service inspection for £275 + VAT. You get a written report once it’s done.

Generator Servicing

Without regular maintenance from someone who knows what they’re doing, a generator can let you down at the worst possible moment. Our service and maintenance contracts cover you all year round, day and night, and if something goes wrong we’ll be on site within 4 hours.

Power Security Generators has been servicing, maintaining, repairing and installing generators across the UK for over 30 years. Our work is overseen by Jim Shaw, a chartered engineer, and our Service Director Phil Clayden. Wherever you are in the country, our engineers and support team can look after your generators. No job is too far.

If you think your generator might not be up to the task, or you just want a service provider you can rely on that won’t cost the earth, get in touch.

We look after everything from a single unit to large portfolios spread across dozens of sites, and we’ll help you pick the right package. A lot of our work is with Facilities Managers, Operations Managers and business owners who need their generators ready to go at all times. As well as ongoing contracts, we do one-off repairs when a generator has broken down and you need an engineer out quickly.

We’ve worked on generators from just about every manufacturer, including Perkins, Inmesol, CAT, Kohler SDMO, FG Wilson, Volvo Penta and Pramac, so the chances are we’ve seen a set like yours before.

We service generators across a lot of different sectors, including healthcare, data centres, retail and hospitality, commercial offices, public services and manufacturing. If your business depends on standby power, we know the trouble it causes when it fails.

Industry Leading Generator Service Plans

Our service packages suit every kind of diesel backup generator. Regular attention keeps running costs and the risk of a breakdown down. It also helps protect your manufacturer’s warranty and keeps you on the right side of your insurance and health and safety obligations.

Our engineers will build a maintenance plan around what you actually need, and we’ll book visits in at a time that works for you, so there’s as little disruption as possible.

Why a Generator Service and Maintenance Contract is Important

If you own a generator but haven’t got a service plan in place, there’s a real chance it won’t be ready when you need it. Like any engine, it needs looking after. That means oil and filter changes, topping up the coolant, and keeping the battery in good shape.

It’s a bit like leaving a car on the driveway for months without starting it, or never bothering to get it serviced. Your backup generator is no different. When the mains goes down, the set has to start first time, and that comes down to a healthy starter battery, clean oil and fuel filters, and the right oil and coolant levels.

Look after your generator properly and, together with your UPS, it’ll give you dependable backup for the systems you can’t afford to lose. Let it slide and a routine power cut can turn into expensive downtime, lost trade and, in some settings, a safety problem.

Full Range of Generator Servicing Packages

We offer a range of generator maintenance options to ensure that your backup supply carries you through a power failure:

Single Consultation

An engineer comes out, checks over your generator and carries out a full service inspection. You’ll get a written report setting out any faults, plus a quote for putting them right if anything needs doing. This is the same as our fixed-price service, £275 + VAT for generators up to 500kVA.

Standard Service Agreement

Our standard contract gives you 2 visits a year. Each visit covers oil sampling, filter changes where they’re needed, a coolant check, an oil-level check, running the set (on load where possible), and checks on the engine oil pressure and temperature shutdowns. We’ll also check the battery while we’re there and flag anything else that needs looking at. You get a written report after every visit.

Premium Service Agreement

If you need a bit more cover, our Premium agreement includes everything in the standard one, plus a guaranteed 4-hour emergency call-out, 24 hours a day, right through the year.

We can also sort out load bank testing as part of your plan. It’s worth doing on sets that normally run at low load, to make sure they’ll still cope when they’re asked to run flat out. Not sure which package suits you? Give us a call and we’ll work it out together.

For all generator servicing or repair enquiries, please contact us today and we’ll work together to make sure you get the service you need.

Why Choose Us?

We have 10 sites across the UK, Power Security Generators service and maintain our diesel generators at all of these sites. They do an amazing job and I can’t recommend them enough.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can you respond in an emergency?2026-07-29T20:35:48+01:00

Contract customers get a guaranteed 4-hour emergency response. We’ll always try to help over the phone first, then get an engineer out to you as quickly as we can.

What areas of the UK do you cover?2026-07-29T20:35:29+01:00

All of it. Wherever you’re based in the UK, no job is too far.

Do you service all makes of generator?2026-07-29T20:35:11+01:00

Yes. We work on all the main brands, including Perkins, Inmesol, CAT, Kohler SDMO, FG Wilson, Volvo Penta and Pramac, along with plenty of others.

What’s included in a service?2026-07-29T20:34:55+01:00

A typical visit covers oil sampling and changes, filter changes where needed, coolant and oil-level checks, a battery check, running the set (on load where we can), and checks on the engine oil pressure and temperature shutdowns. You’ll get a written report afterwards. Exactly what’s done depends on your generator and the package you go for.

How often should a commercial generator be serviced?2026-07-29T20:34:37+01:00

Most standby generators should be serviced at least once a year, and twice is better. If your set works hard, or you rely on it for something critical, it may need seeing more often, or servicing by running hours (say, every 300 hours). Our standard contract covers two visits a year, which keeps most sets reliable and ready to go.
